DCOF stands for Dynamic Coefficient of Friction. It measures the traction and slip resistance of a flooring surface (like tile or vinyl) when a person is already in motion walking across it, especially under wet or slippery conditions. The higher the DCOF number, the more grip the floor provides and the safer it is.
Used heavily by architects and builders, DCOF ratings help choose appropriate flooring for residential and commercial spaces to prevent slips and falls.
